Green Knights Get Pair of MWC Sweeps

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College picked up a pair of 9-0 dual wins over Monmouth College and Illinois College in Midwest Conference play.
Katherine Ake and Erika Chitko won a pair of matches at No. 1 doubles, beating Monmouth's Katherine Hinman and Liddy Wilson 8-1 and Illinois College's Kathryn Ryan and Tamar Norville 8-5.
Anna Gosz and Elizabeth Manlick won twice at No. 2 doubles, beating Annaliese McDermott and Katy Tolsky of Monmouth 8-2 and Lisa Noggle and Jovanna Chavez 8-0.
Ashley Randazzo and Katlyn Gahan beat the Scots' Morgan Holle and Callie Cook 8-5 before beating the Lady Blues' Brianna Pohlman and Valerie Escudero 8-0 later in the day.
Manlick won both her matches at No. 1 singles, beating Hinman 6-0, 6-3 and Ryan 6-3, 6-4.
Chitko won at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-0 over Wilson for her only singles match of the day.
Ake beat McDermott 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles against Monmouth and then defeated Norville 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 against Illinois College. Gahan beat Cook 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4 against Monmouth and Noggle 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 against Illinois College.
Gosz defeated Tolsky 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 against Monmouth and Chavez 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 against Illinois College. Randazzo topped Rachel Leifheit 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6 against Monmouth and Pohlman 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5 against Illinois College.
Stephanie Doerfert beat Escudero 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6 against Illinois College.
