DE PERE - St. Norbert College won its season opener for the sixth
consecutive season in posting a 4-1 win over Concordia University
Wisconsin in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch
Olympic Pavilion.

The victory also came in Meredith Roth's first game as St. Norbert head
coach, her first game as a bench boss at the collegiate level.

St. Norbert wasted little time taking the lead, forging a 1-0 lead on
Reghan Chadwick's goal just 2:32 into the game. Chadwick's goal came
off a rebound after a flurry of activity in front of the Concordia net.

The Green Knights pushed ahead 2-0 when Lauren Roethlisberger
finished a breakaway opportunity 3:25 into the second period. St.
Norbert added another goal just 47 seconds later when Myranda Hayes
finished at 4:12. Concordia cut the deficit to 3-1 when Nicole Krumwiede
scored at 9:56 of the second period.

Concordia had a chance to draw closer when St. Norbert's Malin Hoglund
was cited for a delay of game penalty in the crease, leading to a Falcons'
penalty shot. Concordia's Lexi Holman's penalty shot was saved by St.
Norbert's Brianna Kelly, who made 24 saves in the game.

St. Norbert salted the game away with Jessica Sherman's power-play
goal with 12:47 gone by in the third period.

Hayes and Chadwick added assists for two-point games for St. Norbert.

The Green Knights outshot the Falcons 30-25. St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on
the power play, while Concordia was 0-for-3. Allison Kurek made 26
saves for the Falcons.
