Green Knights Finish Month-Long Road Trip 7-0-1

APPLETON - St. Norbert College completed its longest road trip in 22 years with a 4-2 win over Lawrence University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Appleton Family Ice Center.

The Green Knights (9-1-1, 6-1 NCHA), ranked No. 2 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, completed a month-long eight-game road trip with a 7-0-1 record with the win in the first game of a home-and-home series with the Vikings (3-6, 2-3). Game two is set for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Cornerstone Community Center, the Green Knights' first home game since Nov. 6.

St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal late in the first period. Sean Campbell scored with the man advantage with just 14 seconds remaining in the first period for the game's first goal.

The Green Knights added to their lead when Brad Pung scored 2:37 into the second period. Storm Wahlrab added a goal at 16:41 of the frame, and Roman Uchyn gave the Green Knights a 4-0 lead when he registered a marker at the 18:20 mark.

Lawrence got back into it with a pair of third-period power-play goals by Lane King at 9:55 and Renato Engler at 16:54.

St. Norbert outshot Lawrence 36-29, with the Vikings holding a 15-7 edge in the third period. Tony Kujava made 27 saves for the Green Knights. Mattias Soderqvist made 25 saves in working the first two periods for the Vikings, while Greg Procopio stopped all seven shots he faced in the third period.

St. Norbert was 1-for-5 on the power play and Lawrence was 2-for-6.
