Cold Shooting Dooms Green Knights at UW-Oshkosh

OSHKOSH - St. Norbert College shot 28.8 percent from the floor for the game en route to a 62-48 loss to UW-Oshkosh in a non-conference game at Kolf Sports Center.
The Green Knights (5-3) trailed 47-45 with 3:56 left and 51-48 with 2:37 to go, but the unbeaten Titans (8-0) - ranked No. 5 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 - finished the game on an 11-0 run to seal the victory.
St. Norbert opened the fourth quarter trailed 42-36 before Regan Carmichael and Jill Kleiman canned 3-pointers to knot the score 42-42 with 7:56 to go. The Green Knights were never able to take the lead. Oshkosh held a 45-44 lead but St. Norbert missed a pair of free throws with 4:56 left that could have put the visitors ahead.
The Green Knights trailed 17-9 after the first quarter but opened the second quarter on a 12-2 run to put St. Norbert ahead 21-19 with 6:34 left in the half on a Stephanie Weigman jumper. Oshkosh pulled away from a 24-24 tie late in the quarter to lead 31-26 at halftime.
St. Norbert trailed 35-34 with 5:36 left in the third quarter but Oshkosh closed the period on a 7-2 run to lead 42-36 at the end of the frame.
The Green Knights were 17-for-59 from the floor. Carmichael was the only St. Norbert player to score in double figures with 12 points, while Kleiman and Sarah Ratajczyk added nine points apiece.
Oshkosh shot 19-for-49 (38.8 percent) from the floor. Taylor Schmidt led the Titans with 18 points.
