Green Knights Win Fifth Straight in Series Opener at Augsburg

MINNEAPOLIS - St. Norbert College won its fifth-straight game with a 3-1 win over Augsburg College in a non-conference game at Augsburg Ice Arena. It was the first game in a two-game series.

St. Norbert (7-4) has outscored its opponents 15-6 during the five-game victory skein.

The Green Knights took the early lead when Lauren Roethlisberger scored just 4 minutes 7 seconds into the game for her fifth goal of the season.

St. Norbert extended it lead in the second period when Emily Chandler scored for the third time this season with a marker at the 11-minute mark. Augsburg (5-4-1) answered 47 seconds later with a power-play goal by Ashley Kloncz, but the Green Knights responded at 16:11 with a power-play goal of their own by Reaghan Chadwick. It was Chadwick's sixth goal of the season.

Neither team would score in the third period and neither team had a power play in the final 20-minutes of action.

Chadwick and Chandler both had assists to give each a two-point game.

St. Norbert outshot Augsburg 27-18. Leigh Grall made 17 saves for the Green Knights and Erika Allen made 24 stops for the Auggies.

St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play and Augsburg was 1-for-2.
