ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Senior forward Lauren Roethlisberger's third-period goal proved to be the difference as St. Norbert College posted a 2-1 win over the College of St. Benedict in a non-conference game at Municipal Athletic Complex.

The Green Knights (10-4) improved their winning streak to eight games. The skein is one win short of the school record of nine, set from February 2-March 2, 2013.

St. Norbert took a first-period lead when Jessica Sherman tallied a power-play goal at the 10:54 mark. Selena Stromer and Natasha Smith assisted on Sherman's third goal of the season.

The Blazers (3-8-1) drew even in the second period when Brigette Miller scored an unassisted marker at 11:23.

Roethlisberger then scored the game's decisive goal at 5:16 of the third period, skating the length of the rink for an unassisted tally for her seventh goal of the season.

Leigh Grall made 14 saves for St. Norbert and extended her consecutive shutout sequence to 179 minutes 36 seconds before St. Benedict's goal. That total set a new St. Norbert record, surpassing Kaley Gibson's old standard of 162:15 from February 22-March 7, 2014.

St. Norbert outshot St. Benedict 23-15. Dory Johnson made 21 saves for the Blazers. The Green Knights were 1-for-3 on the power play while St. Benedict was 0-for-5.
