BELOIT - St. Norbert College made 39 field goals and scored at least 21 points in each of the last three quarters en route to an 85-54 win over Beloit College in a Midwest Conference game at Flood Arena.

The Green Knights (9-4, 8-0 MWC), now 36-1 in their last 37 games against MWC opponents, overcame a slow start to win handily.

Beloit took an 8-0 lead in the first 4:45 of the game as the Green Knights missed their first five shots from the floor and had three turnovers in the opening moments. However, senior reserve guard Kyra VandenHeuvel sparked St. Norbert off the bench, scoring the game's next seven points to get the Green Knights to within 8-7.

The Buccaneers still led 12-7 late in the first quarter until Mallory Nickerson converted a layup and Regan Carmichael recorded a steal and 3-pointer as the first 10 minutes expired to give the Green Knights a 17-13 lead.

St. Norbert's lead reached double digits with a 29-19 edge on a Sarah Ratajczyk hoop with 3:47 left in the second quarter. The Green Knights, which led 23-19 earlier in the stanza, finished the half on a 15-4 run for a 38-23 halftime lead.

The Green Knights pulled away in the third quarter, with VandenHeuvel's layup with 4:34 left in the period putting the visitor up 50-29. St. Norbert never led by less than 22 points in the last 14 minutes.

VandenHeuvel finished with a career-high 22 points for St. Norbert, which shot 53.4 percent (39-for-73) from the floor. Carmichael had 14 points and Nickerson and Christine Olijnyk added 10 points apiece. St. Norbert had nine turnovers to Beloit's 27.

Lana Wieseman led Beloit with 13 points and was the only Buccaneer to reach double figures. The Buccaneers shot 37.5 percent (18-for-48) from the floor.
