Green Knights Place Sixth at UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College finished in sixth place out of 11 teams competing at the UW-Whitewater Classic Invitational at Kachel Fieldhouse.
The Green Knights totaled 69 1/2 points. The University of Chicago won the team title with 109 1/2 points, clipping second-place Whitewater by 1/2 point.
A pair of St. Norbert relays both won their event titles. The 4x200-meter relay of Liz LeCaptain, Angel Hon, Sarah Duff and Haidyn Mueller won with a time of 1:49.31. The distance medley relay of Erin Artz, Ali Fox, Alana Blegen and Sarah Parbs captured their event with a time of 13:02.73.
Kristina Herman set a school record in the shot put with a distance of 41 feet 7 1/4 inches to finish in second place. The heave eclipsed her own mark of 40-5 set on January 22 at the North Central College Invitational.
LeCaptain finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.88 seconds. She also played fourth in the long jump with a distance of 16-10 1/2.
Samantha Morateck finished in a tie for fourth place in the high jump with a height of 5-1.
Mueller was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.61 seconds. Artz was seventh in the 800-meter run in 2:21.70, while Charlotte Walsh was seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:19.00.
