St. Norbert Claims Two More Victories

DE PERE - St. Norbert College improved to 3-1 in its spring season with a pair of non-conference wins at Green Bay Tennis Center. The Green Knights defeated Wartburg College 8-1 before defeating Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference champion Concordia University Wisconsin 7-2.

The Green Knights (14-4) swept all three doubles points against Wartburg. Erika Chitko and Elizabeth Manlick defeated Katherine Ross and Melissa Davis 8-4 at No. 1. Katlyn Gahan and Stephanie Doerfert outlasted Kayle Reusche and Alex Peterson 9-8 (7-4) at No. 2, while Claire Hetzel and Maggie Krummel defeated Alexa Schmitz and Alliston Birnbaum 8-5 at No. 3.

Chitko claimed a three-set win over Ross at No. 1 singles 3-6, 6-1, 10-1. Manlick then defeated Davis 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Gahan beat Reusche 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Hetzel followed with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Schmitz at No. 5 and Krummel picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Carly Sis at No. 6.

St. Norbert again swept all three doubles points against Concordia. Chitko and Manlick beat Ashley Solberg and Bailey Kelly 8-4 at No. 1. Gahan and Doerfert beat Hannah Tresedder and Michaela Wagner 8-0 at No. 2, followed by an 8-4 win over Hetzel and Krummel over Sabine Jacobsen and Alisia Macioch at No. 3.

Chitko started off singles action with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 over Solberg. Manlick followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Tresedder at No. 2. Hetzel beat Wagner 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 10-5 at No. 5 singles and Krummel beat Macioch 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.
