Green Knights Narrowly Miss on Wisconsin Private College Title

WAUKESHA - St. Norbert College narrowly missed out on repeating as champions at the Wisconsin Private College Championship at the 2016 meet hosted by Carroll University at the Punches Track and Field Complex.

The Green Knights totaled 144 points, narrowly getting clipped by Carthage College's 146 points. Milwaukee School of Engineering was a distant third at 81.5 points.

Ryan Grandlic and Jon Gregory finished first and second in the 400-meter dash, respectively. Grandlic won with a time of 48.90 seconds while Gregory came in right behind at 49.73 seconds.

Kevin Schlichter and Nick Agen placed first and second, respectively, in the long jump. Schlichter had a leap of 20 feet 2 1/4 inches while Agen finished with a distance of 19-11 1/2.

St. Norbert claimed first-place finishes in both the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays. Schlichter, Colin O'Brien, Frank Scandin and Grandlic ran on the 4x100 in 43.62 seconds, while Brad Boockmeier, Gregory, Jack Feuerstein and Grandlic finished the 4x400 in 3:24.78.

O'Brien placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.22 seconds and also finished in third place in the 200-meter run in 22.99 seconds. Andrew Brath was second in the 200 with a time of 22.97 seconds.

Jacob Wittmershaus finished in third place in the 10,000-meter run in 23:06.15, while Grandlic added a third-place finish in the triple jump at 40-0 1/2.
