DE PERE - St. Norbert College rebounded from a rough start to its series with Beloit College to sweep the Buccaneers by scores of 6-4 and 12-11 at Larry Van Alstine Field at Mel Nicks Sports Complex to end up splitting the four-game weekend set.

St. Norbert (9-9, 5-3 MWC) rallied from a 4-3 deficit in the opener with a three-run seventh inning. With runners on first and second with two outs, Robbie Dombrowski doubled in Sean Grant and Jason Malkowski to put the Green Knights ahead 5-4. Dombrowski advanced to third on a Griffin Jack single and then scored on a wild pitch.

Beloit went down in order in the eighth inning and had just one base hit in the ninth as the Green Knights posted the win.

St. Norbert took a 2-0 lead in the third inning. Tyler Banovich drove in a run with a single and later came around to score on a balk. The Buccaneers took a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning on three unearned runs, but St. Norbert knotted the game 3-3 in the bottom of the inning on an error. Beloit scored a single run in the top of the sixth to briefly take the lead.

Banovich finished 3-for-5, while Jason Malkowski, Dombrowski and Jack were all 2-for-4. Matt Zacharias got the win in relief, allowing just one hit in three innings pitched.

In a wild nightcap, St. Norbert outlasted Beloit in a game that featured just five scoreless half-innings out of 17.

The Green Knights took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles by Banovich and Adam Enwiya. Beloit answered with two runs each in the second and third innings to lead 4-2, but St. Norbert got two-run home runs from Enwiya and Malkowski in the bottom of the third to take a 6-4 lead.

Beloit tied the game with two runs in the top of the fourth but Grant scored on an error in the bottom half to put St. Norbert ahead 7-6. The Buccaneers scored two runs for the fourth consecutive inning in the fifth, but St. Norbert squared the game at 8-8 on an Enwiya RBI single.

Beloit would score once in the top of the sixth to take a 9-8 lead but the Green Knights would take the lead for good in the bottom of the inning with three runs. Hunter Larson drove in two runs on a single and Banovich drove in Larson on a groundout for an 11-9 lead. St. Norbert would tack on a run in the bottom of the eighth when Larson drove in Derek Klegin with a single.

The Buccaneers would score two unearned runs in the top of the ninth inning but Banovich would come on to nail down the game with his first save of the season.

Klegin was 4-for-5 with four runs scored, while Enwiya was 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Larson, Banovich, Grant and Dombrowski all had two hits apiece. Eric Feldner picked up the win, allowing no earned runs in 3 1/3 innings pitched of relief.
