St. Norbert Swept at UW-Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College was swept in a non-conference doubleheader at UW-Stevens Point by scores of 11-3 and 10-2 at McCarty Field.

The Green Knights fell behind 9-0 in the opener, with the Pointers scoring four runs in the second inning, three runs in the third inning and two runs in the fourth inning.

St. Norbert scored three times in the top of the fifth inning. Tia Danforth had a two-run single in the inning, while Emily Laufer followed with an RBI single. The Pointers scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.

The Green Knights had four hits in the opener. Lexi LeCalsey took the loss, allowing seven hits and seven runs with three walks and four strikeouts in three innings pitched.

In the nightcap, Stevens Point scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning to take control. St. Norbert scored twice in the top of the third inning on a two-run single by Amanda Van Handel. Stevens Point finished the game with one run in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth inning.

St. Norbert had six hits, with Danforth, Van Handel and Amy McBride all going 2-for-3. Kasey Roff took the loss, allowing eight hits and six runs in two innings pitched.
