No. 2 Doubles Duo Reach MWC Semifinals

MADISON - St. Norbert College had one of its three doubles tandems reached the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Doubles Championship at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

Kyle Battle and Zach Simonet advanced to the semifinals of the No. 2 flight before losing to Grinnell College's C.J. Ray and Cole Miller 8-0. Battle and Simonet won their quarterfinal match with an 8-4 win over Monmouth College's Saxon Day and Landon Walker.

St. Norbert's No. 3 doubles tandem of Joe Oleniczak and Kahlo Vue reached the final of the consolation bracket but dropped an 8-6 decision to Carroll University's Mitchel Gjeresetyh and Andrew Nemcek.

The No. 1 doubles flight of Ben Vande Zande and Alex Vandenberg topped Knox College's Rohail Khan and Ashwin Kushwaha 8-1 in a first-round match. The pair then lost in the quarterfinals to Lawrence University's Brian DeCorte and David Jumes 8-4.
