CHICAGO - St. Norbert College held off a late University of Chicago rally to post a 4-3 non-conference win over the Maroons at J. Kyle Anderson Field.

The Green Knights (19-13), who have won 12 of their last 16 games, carried a 4-1 lead into the ninth inning before holding on.

Chicago (15-15) scored a single run in the bottom of the second inning, but the Green Knights answered with a run in the top of the third. Hunter Larson reached second base on a two-out error and came around to score on a Tyler Banovich single to knot the game 1-1.

St. Norbert scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning, all coming home with two outs. Sean Grant's single down the left field line scored Larson and Banovich, while Adam Enwiya later scored on a first-and-third situation.

St. Norbert starter Blake Rutherford wouldn't let Chicago mount a scoring threat until the ninth inning. The Maroons would get two runs on two hits and a walk in their last at-bat, but relief pitcher Eric Feldner got pinch-hitter Matt Slodzinski to strike out to end the game.

Rutherford worked eight-plus innings, allowing six hits and two runs with two walks and two strikeouts. Feldner notched his first save of the year.

The Green Knights had eight hits in the game. Grant was the lone St. Norbert hitter to register a multi-hit game, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
