St. Norbert Finishes Second at MWC Outdoor Championship

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College finished in second place in the team standings at the Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship hosted by Cornell College at Ash Park.

The Green Knights totaled 129 1/2 points to finish behind Monmouth College's 193 points. Ripon College was third with 94 points.

Ryan Grandlic claimed the Green Knights' lone individual conference championship on the second day, winning the 400-meter dash in a time of 47.99 seconds. Grandlic was third in the 200-meter dash in 21.76 seconds and was fifth in the javelin throw at 158 feet 11 inches.

The 4x400-meter relay of Jon Gregory, Austin Livingston, Andrew Brath and Tyler Lewis won the conference championship with a time of 3:22.86. The quartet of Lewis, Colin O'Brien, Gregory and Grandlic placed second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 42.34 seconds.

Brad Boockmeier finished second in the javelin throw with a distance of 174 feet. Boockmeier continued a workhorse afternoon with three fourth-place finishes in other events. Boockmeier finished the 110-meter hurdles in 15.71 seconds, leaped 20-4 1/4 in the long jump and had a heave of 49-3 3/4 in the shot put.

O'Brien finished in third place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.98 seconds. Lewis finished third in the 400-meter dash in 48.56 seconds and Gregory was sixth in 50.67 seconds.

Dan Reigh finished in third place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:54.00 while Jacob Wittmershaus was fifth in 10:02.97.

Livingston was fourth in the 800-meter run in 1:55.44 and finished eighth in the 200-meter dash in 22.68 seconds.

Jack Feuerstein placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.94 seconds, while Cody Roll was seventh at 1:00.69. Feuerstein added a seventh-place showing in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.20 seconds while Daniel Butler was eighth in 17.79 seconds.

Kevin Schlichter placed fifth in the long jump at 20-1 3/4. Dominic DiBenedetto was fifth in the shot put at 47-9 1/4 while Evan Broyles was seventh at 46-9.
