Five Green Knights to Compete at NCAA Outdoor Championship

DE PERE - St. Norbert College will send five men to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships later this week in Waverly, Iowa.

Senior Brad Boockmeier qualified in the decathlon, while junior Ryan Grandlic is an entrant in the 400-meter dash. Freshman Jon Gregory, senior Austin Livingston, Grandlic and junior Tyler Lewis are entered in the 4x400-meter relay.

Boockmeier, a two-time All-American in the decathlon, is the No. 15 seeding in the field of 20 contestants with a point total of 6,396. The decathlon will begin at Noon Thursday and Friday at Wartburg College's Walston-Hoover Stadium. Boockmeier was eighth in the decathlon in 2013 and was fifth in 2015.

Grandlic is the No. 10 seeding in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.70 seconds. The preliminary heats in the 400-meter dash are at 4:45 p.m. Friday while the final for the 400 is at 2:10 p.m. Saturday.

The 4x400-meter relay is seeded sixth with a time of 3:12.26. The preliminary heats for the event are set for 7:20 p.m. Thursday and the final is scheduled for 4:50 p.m. Saturday. St. Norbert finished fourth in the event at last year's NCAA Outdoor Championship.
