McAvoy Named Offensive Coordinator

DE PERE - St. Norbert College has named Pat McAvoy offensive coordinator, head football coach Dan McCarty announced.

McAvoy arrives at St. Norbert from UW-Stout, where he coordinated the offense in 2014 and 2015. McAvoy also coached offensive line, tight ends and running backs during his time on the Blue Devils' staff, and also handled strength and conditioning duties.

Prior to his position at Stout, McAvoy spent two seasons (2012-13) as a graduate assistant coaching offensive linemen and tight ends at Northern Illinois University, his alma mater. The Huskies played in the Orange Bowl as the MAC champion following the 2012 season.

McAvoy was a four-year letterwinner at fullback at Northern Illinois, getting to play in four bowl games with the Huskies. McAvoy graduated with a bachelor's degree in business marketing in 2011. He earned his master's degree in sports management in 2013.

A Cary, Ill., native, McAvoy was a three-sport standout at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, Ill.
