St. Norbert Splits Duals But Remains Unbeaten In MWC

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College split a pair of dual matches at Western Racquet and Fitness Club but won the Midwest Conference matchup to remain unbeaten in league play. The Green Knights topped Ripon College 9-0 before losing to UW-Oshkosh 5-4.

St. Norbert (7-4, 7-0 MWC) wasted little time taking control of the match against the Red Hawks by sweeping all three doubles points. Elizabeth Manlick and Meg Witt beat Maddie VandenHouten and Morgan Maker 8-1 at No. 1, followed by an 8-2 win voer Katherine Ake and Katlyn Gahan over Carly Wesner and Samantha Kiesner at No. 2. Anna Gosz and Ashley Randazzo then picked up an 8-0 win over Lily Lenk and Madeline Salzer at No. 3.

Manlick beat VandenHouten 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Ake topped Makar 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2. Gosz then beat Kiesner 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

The Nos. 4-6 singles matches were all 6-0, 6-0 decisions. Gahan beat Wesner at No. 4, Randazzo blanked Salzer at No. 5 and Witt defeated Lenk at No. 6.

Against Oshkosh, St. Norbert won one doubles match - an 8-2 win for Gahan and Stephanie Doerfert at No. 3.

Manlick beat Bailey Sagen 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 at No. 1 singles, while Gahan topped Peters 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3. Randazzo got the final singles win with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over ANnie Docter at No. 4.
