DE PERE - St. Norbert College scored the game's first goal but had to settle for a 1-1 tie with Ripon College in a Midwest Conference match at West De Pere High School.

The Green Knights (5-2-1, 2-1-1 MWC) handed the Red Hawks (10-0-1, 2-0-1) their first blemish of the season.

St. Norbert's Julia Schumacher scored her first goal of the season to give the Green Knights the lead with a marker at 34:54 off an assist from Monica Stephans.

The goal would hold up until the 69th minute when Ripon's Paige Birschbach, Division III's leading scorer, tallied her 17th goal of the season off an assist from Abbie Maule.

Ripon would get a good scoring chance in the first overtime session but the open shot was blocked by a St. Norbert defender.

Ripon held a scant 17-16 edge in shots and held a 6-1 nod in corner kicks. Maddie Plinska turned away 12 shots for St. Norbert, while Miye Aoki-Kramer made 10 saves for the Red Hawks.
