Green Knights Fall at Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College couldn't slow down the Lake Forest College offense and dropped a 6-3 decision in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Green Knights fell behind just 1 minute 23 seconds into the game when the Foresters' Amy Budde scored the game's first goal. St. Norbert pulled back to even at 6:29 when Jessica Sherman scored a power-play goal, but the Foresters retook the lead for good at 9:54 on a goal by Julia Unterseher.

The Foresters extended their lead on a goal by Budde at 7:04. St. Norbert would get back to within one goal on a marker by Lauren Michael at 18:55, but Allie Girard scored at 19:32 to put Lake Forest ahead 4-2.

Lake Forest pulled away in the third period on a goal by Amanda Brunges at 8:13 for a 5-2 advantage. The Green Knights scored at 10:50 on a goal by Selena Stromer, but Lake Forest scored the final goal at 18:51 on an empty-net score by Girard.

Sherman recorded an assist for a two-point game.

Lake Forest outshot St. Norbert 29-15. Brianna Kelly made 23 saves for the Green Knights, while Jacqueline Audet made 12 stops for the Foresters.

St. Norbert was 1-for-7 on the power play while Lake Forest was 0-for-8. >>MORE
