Green Knights Drop Series Finale to Manhattanville

RYE, N.Y. - St. Norbert College struggled to stay out of the penalty box en route to a 3-2 loss to Manhattanville College in the second game of a two-game non-conference series at Playland Ice Casino.

The Green Knights (8-2), ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com and D3hockey.com polls, were cited 11 times for 33 minutes in penalties and were outshot 35-21.

Manhattanville (6-4) snapped a 2-2 tie early in the third period when Cory Anderson scored a power-play goal at the 2:35 mark. St. Norbert had to kill off two penalties after that but then the Valiants committed two penalties, but the Green Knights did not score.

Manhattanville had another power play in the final six minutes but was turned away, but St. Norbert couldn't net the equalizer despite having 2 minutes 43 seconds of extra-attacker time at the end of the game.

St. Norbert had to kill off a major penalty and a 5-on-3 situation in the first period but the Green Knights led 1-0 after 20 minutes thanks to a power-play goal by Sean Campbell at 7:57.

The Valiants scored twice midway through the period on goals by Kevin Loppatto at 11:49 and Matt Lippa at 14:19. The Green Knights knotted the game 2-2 on a goal by Jeremy Olinyk at 16:58.

Roman Uchyn had two assists for the Green Knights' lone two-point game.

Manhattanville was 1-for-8 on the power play while St. Norbert was 1-for-5. Tony Kujava made 32 saves for the Green Knights, while Tyler Feaver made 19 stops for the Valiants.
