St. Norbert Can't Draw Even With Pointers

STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College tried to mount a late rally but couldn't net an equalizer as the Green Knights lost to UW-Stevens Point 2-1 in the first game of a home-and-home non-conference series at Ice Hawks Arena.

The Green Knights trailed 2-0 when Selena Stromer scored her fourth goal of the season with 1:05 remaining in the third period. St. Norbert had an extra attacker on for the final 26 seconds but couldn't put the game-tying goal home.

Stevens Point took a 2-0 lead with a pair of second-period goals. Ali Biagini scored at 6:30 and Mackenzie Kratch added a power-play goal at 19:37.

Stevens Point outshot St. Norbert 23-21. Leigh Grall made 21 saves in goal for the Green Knights, while Marit Larson turned away 20 shots for the Pointers.

The Pointers were 1-for-3 on the power play while St. Norbert was 0-for-3.
