Green Knights Fall to Skidmore, Rowan

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - St. Norbert College lost a pair of games on the second day of its Florida trip, falling 6-3 to Skidmore College and 5-0 to Rowan University.

The Green Knights (0-4) built a 3-0 lead against Skidmore by scoring a single run in each of the first three innings. Maria Reiter drove in a run with a first-inning sacrifice fly, while Brianna Braeger drove in a run on a single in the second inning. Amy McBride plated a run with an RBI single in the third inning.

The Thoroughbreds countered with four runs in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-3 lead. St. Norbert tried to rally but left two runners on in the sixth inning and the bases loaded in the seventh inning to end the game.

Braeger posted her second four-hit game of the season by going 4-for-4, while Amanda Diedrich was 2-for-4. The Green Knights totaled 11 hits.

Sydney Pfotenhauer was charged with the loss, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits and three strikeouts.

Against Rowan, which is ranked No. 9 in the latest NFCA Division III Poll, the Green Knights managed just three hits against a pair of Profs pitchers. Leigh Grall was 2-for-3.

Rowan scored a single run in the third inning and two runs each in the fifth and sixth innings to account for its scoring.

Emma Molenhouse took the loss, allowing nine hits and five walks with two strikeouts in a complete-game effort.
