St. Norbert Romps to Team Title at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - St. Norbert College got its outdoor season off to a good start with the team title in the Augustana College Early Spring Opener at Ericson Stadium.
The Green Knights totaled 223 points to top runner-up Loras College, which had 208 points. Olivet Nazarene University was a distance third with 97 points.
St. Norbert took three of the top four places in the 400-meter dash. Clarissa Jauregui won the event with a time of 59.46 seconds. Maddie LeBrun was third in 59.89, while Haley Joosten was fourth in 1:01.14.
The Green Knights did the same thing in the high jump. Samantha Morateck won with a height of 5 feet 5 inches. Brianna Alexander was second with a height of 4-11, while Hayley Winzenried was fourth at 4-7. Morateck added a third-place finish in the long jump at 16-0 1/4.
Lisa Baeten won the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:58.27. Haidyn Mueller captured the 100-meter hurdles in 16.49 seconds, while Peyton McCauley won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:09.18.
The 4x800-meter relay of Erin Artz, Hailey Ruplinger, Abby Janto and Emily Beltran won with a time of 10:13.81. Artz was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.03.
The 4x100-meter relay of Kaitlyn Hintz, Sarah Duff, Mekenzie Mattes and Mueller was second with a time of 50.67 seconds.
Grace Mickelson was second in the pole vault with a height of 9-10.
Mattes was third in the 100-meter dash at 13.56 seconds, while Duff was fourth at 13.58 seconds. Duff added a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 27.29 seconds.
Teagan Wernicke was third in the triple jump at 33-0 1/2, while Kristina Herman was third in the javelin throw at 110-3.
