EAU CLAIRE - St. Norbert College lost a pair of hard-fought one-run games to nationally ranked UW-Eau Claire in a non-conference doubleheader at Bollinger Field. The Green Knights lost 6-5 in eight innings and 1-0 to the No. 17-ranked Blugolds.

St. Norbert (11-11) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opener. Leigh Grall stroked a two-run home run in the top of the first inning for a 2-0 edge. Lexy Campshure's two-run single in the third inning then put the Green Knights ahead 4-0.

The Blugolds (19-7) would rally with a five-run fourth inning, highlighted by Rachel Heffel's inside-the-park grand slam. St. Norbert would force extra innings when it scored in the top of the seventh inning on Carley Frauenhoff's RBI single.

Eau Claire would win the game in the bottom of the eighth inning on Darby Raffel's run-scoring single with one out.

St. Norbert pounded out 11 hits in the opener but left 13 runners on base. Grall was 3-for-5, while Tia Danforth was 2-for-2 and Brianna Braeger was 2-for-5.

Emma Molenhouse took the complete-game loss, allowing 10 hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

In the nightcap, the only run came in the bottom of the seventh inning when Eau Claire's Sam Noetzelman doubled in a run with two outs.

Sydney Pfotenhauer took the hard-luck loss, allowing six hits with three walks and one strikeout in a complete-game effort. Braeger had the Green Knights' lone multi-hit game at 2-for-4.
