Four Earn All-Midwest Conference Honors, Krueger Coach of the Year

DE PERE - St. Norbert College had three first-team selections and one second-team honoree on the 2017 All-Midwest Conference softball team.

Sophomore infielder Tia Danforth was named to the first team as a utility selection, while freshman pitcher Emma Molenhouse and freshman infielder Amanda Diedrich were also first-team honorees. Junior infielder Leigh Grall was a second-team All-MWC selection. Coach JoAnn Krueger was also named MWC Coach of the Year.

Danforth, an Oneida native, is hitting a team-high .394 with four home runs and 26 runs batted in. She also has an on-base percentage of .484 while scoring 34 runs.

Molenhouse, a North Aurora, Ill., native, is 10-5 with a 2.68 earned run average and .272 batting average against. She also threw five shutouts this season.

Diedrich, a Kaukauna native, is hitting .318 with four home runs and 25 runs batted in. She has drawn a team-high 12 walks with an on-base percentage of .392.

Grall, a Janesville native, is hitting .339 with one home run and 20 runs batted in. She also has nine doubles and an on-base percentage of .383.

Krueger led the Green Knights to their first MWC championship since 2012 after being picked to finish in seventh place in the league's pre-season coaches' poll.
