The non-conference win moved the fourth-ranked Green Knights to 11-3 on the season. The Raiders, who host St. Norbert in the back end of the home-and-home series Saturday, fell to 4-6-1.
St. Norbert and MSOE battled to a scoreless first period, but the Green Knights clearly held the upper hand of play by outshooting the Raiders 18-5 in the first 20 minutes.
The Green Knights did not score on a power-play early in the second period, but five seconds after the penalty expired Matt Boyd played a puck from beyond the net to Shane Wheeler. Wheeler flipped the puck past a sprawled MSOE goaltender Conner Toomey for the game's first score at 7:44 of the period.
St. Norbert cashed in on its next power-play opportunity when Nick Tabisz fired a wicked wrister past Toomey at 11:56. The Green Knights carried a 2-0 lead into the third period after not scoring on a major power play late in the second.
Dustin Dubas salted the game away with his first goal of the season, an unassisted marker at 7:32 of the third period from just inside the blue line directly in front of the goal.
Boyd finished with two assists in his first game back after missing eight games due to injury. Scott Pulak and Tyler Allen added assists for the Green Knights, who outshot the Raiders 40-12.
B.J. O'Brien made all 12 saves for his second shutout of the season. Toomey turned away 37 shots for the Raiders.
St. Norbert was 1-for-6 on the power play, while MSOE was 0-for-4.
