DE PERE - St. Norbert College benefited from an own goal late in regulation tie to salvage a 2-2 tie with Lake Forest College in a Midwest Conference match at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (8-4-1, 4-0-1 MWC) pulled even when a St. Norbert shot was redirected into the Lake Forest goal by a Foresters' play at the 81:54 mark.
St. Norbert took the early lead when Dana Schwab scored just 2:42 into the match when she took a feed from Madalyn Sanderfoot across the crease and finished for her team-high ninth goal of the season.
Schwab's goal would hold up until early in the second half when Susie Baca's 15-yard shot just got inside the post at 51:40 to pull the Foresters even. Shari Jacobson's penalty kick at 64:30 put Lake Forest ahead 2-1.
St. Norbert had a golden opportunity to win in the overtime periods after Lake Forest was down a player for the last 14 minutes due to a red card, but the Green Knights couldn't cash in.
Lake Forest held a 14-11 edge in shots and an 8-3 nod in corner kicks. Ally Magiera made seven saves for the Green Knights, while Paige Thiel made four stops for the Foresters.
