St. Norbert Ties School Record With Tenth Straight Win

BELOIT - St. Norbert College tied a school record with its 10th consecutive win after posting a 6-0 triumph over Beloit College in a Midwest Conference match at Strong Stadium.

The Green Knights (13-3-1, 8-0 MWC) won 10 straight games in 2006 en route to advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. St. Norbert has outscored its opponents 33-4 during its victory skein.

St. Norbert jumped ahead in the 18th minute on a goal by Anthony Masello with Marco Delbecchi assisting. The Green Knights would build a 3-0 lead on a pair of unassisted goals by Drew Checolinski at 32:58 and 39:12.

The Green Knights would strike quickly early in the second half, with Dominic DeMaria scoring off an Anthony Pineda assist at 47:05. Ben Prange scored his 15th goal of the season when he scored at 65:25 off a Griffin Hoerchner assist. St. Norbert scored its final goal at 67:49 when Ryan Hansen scored for the third time this season off a helper from goalkeeper Matt Pilewski.

St. Norbert outshot Beloit 25-4. Josh Koleske made two saves in the first half for the Green Knights, while Pilewski made two stops in the second half.
