Green Knights Drop Beloit, Eye MWC Title

BELOIT - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in the Midwest Conference with a 2-1 win at Beloit College at Strong Stadium.

The Green Knights (12-4-1, 7-0-1 MWC) face Knox College at 11 a.m. Saturday in De Pere for the MWC title. Knox (11-5-1, 6-0-1) faces Illinois College Monday but both teams control their championship destiny heading into the final game of the regular season.

St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead against Beloit when Dana Schwab scored unassisted at 37:50.

The Green Knights added to their lead when Schwab scored again - her 14th goal of the season - off a Morgan Edge assist at 56:45. Tegan Rock scored on a penalty kick for Beloit at 61:25, but the Buccaneers couldn't net the equalizer.

St. Norbert outshot Beloit 16-8 and had an 8-6 edge in corner kicks. Ally Magiera made three saves in goal for the Green Knights.
