St. Norbert Wins MWC Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College captured the Midwest Conference title with a stellar performance at the Midwest Conference Championship at The Links at Jacksonville Golf Course.
The Green Knights turned in a dominant effort, scoring 37 points. Grinnell College was the runner-up with 63 points, while Monmouth College was third with 72 points. Cornell College's Marikate Murphy won the individual title with a time of 22:09.5. A total of 123 runners competed in the 6,000-meter race.
The conference title is St. Norbert's seventh overall and second in a row. The Green Knights also won the MWC title in 1984, '86, 2002, '03, '10 and '16.
St. Norbert had eight runners earn All-Midwest Conference honors by finishing in the top 20.
Taylor Domro led St. Norbert by finished in second place, turning in a time of 22:18.2. Sarah Parbs was fifth in 22:36.4, while Graceanne Tarsa was sixth in 22:39.8.
Gretchen Price was 10th in 23:00.6. Tori Nelsen finished 14th in 23:09.6, while Alyssa Wegner was 15th in 23:12.4. Elisabeth Klumpyan was 17th in 23:13.4, while Abby Janto was 18th in 23:14.9.
Tarsa was named the MWC Elite 20 Award recipient for having the highest grade point average among those competing, while coach Don Augustine was named MWC Coach of the Year.
