Green Knights Post Win Over Aurora

DE PERE - St. Norbert College got its first victory of the 2017-18 season when it posted a 5-1 triumph over Aurora University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (1-2, 1-0 NCHA) fell behind when Aurora's Marissa Dunbar scored a power-play goal at 14:39 of the first period. St. Norbert responded with a goal by Selena Stromer at 16:59 to bring a 1-1 score into the first intermission.
St. Norbert pulled ahead when Libby Barbato scored her first collegiate goal with a marker at 11:35 of the second period.
That goal would hold up until St. Norbert salted away the win early in the third period. Jessica Sherman scored at 1:28, followed by Stromer's second goal of the game at 4:05. KJ Wallace closed out the scoring with a goal at 17:41.
In addition to Stromer's two goals, Sherman had an assist for a two-point game. Lexi Pyykkonen had two assists for the Green Knights.
St. Norbert outshot Aurora 45-23. Leigh Grall made 22 saves for the Green Knights, while Chiara Pfosi made 40 stops for the Spartans. Aurora was 1-for-7 on the power play, while St. Norbert was 0-for-5.
