Michael's Hat Trick Lifts St. Norbert to Aurora Sweep

DE PERE - St. Norbert College junior forward Lauren Michael registered her first career hat trick as the Green Knights topped Aurora University 6-0 to completed a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series sweep at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (2-2, 2-0 NCHA) and Spartans (0-4, 0-2 NCHA) battled to a scoreless first period before St. Norbert broke the game open with four second-period goals.

Jessica Schlaff opened the scoring with a goal at 3:13 of the second period. Lauren Michael followed with goals at 9:12 and 13:37 to give the Green Knights a 3-0 lead. Selena Stromer scored at 16:39 for a 4-0 advantage.

Michael scored for the third time with an unassisted score at 1:57 of the third period. Kenna Farrey closed out the scoring with a power-play goal at 5:52.

Michael had an assist to give her a four-point game, while Farrey had two assists for a three-point performance. Schlaff and Stromer each had an assist for two-point games.

St. Norbert outshot Aurora 53-15. Brianna Kelly made 15 saves to register the shutout for the Green Knights. Becca Binder made 47 stops for the Spartans.

St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play, while Aurora was 0-for-5.
