STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College got an early second-period goal from Tanner Froese for the second consecutive night and claimed a 2-1 win over UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference game at a partisan K.B. Willett Arena.

Froese, who scored the first goal in Friday's 3-1 win at UW-Eau Claire, did the same against the Pointers to jump-start the Green Knights. Following a scoreless first period, Froese scored just 21 seconds into the second period to give the Green Knights a 1-0 lead.

The No. 1-ranked Green Knights then came up empty on a pair of power-play opportunities but Luke Karakas gave his team some breathing room with a goal at the 12:05 mark and a 2-0 edge.

Stevens Point, ranked No. 5 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, didn't get on the board until the 3:19 mark of the third period on a Willem Nong-Lambert goal. The Pointers had 1:37 of extra-attacker time at the end of game but couldn't find the equalizer.

St. Norbert held a 32-31 shots advantage. T.J. Black made 30 saves for the Green Knights, while Max Milosek made 30 stops for the Pointers.

The Green Knights were 0-for-6 on the power play, while the Pointers were 0-for-1.
