Green Knights Drop High-Scoring Affair at UW-River Falls

RIVER FALLS - St. Norbert College lost a high-scoring 8-3 decision to nationally ranked UW-River Falls in a non-conference game at Hunt Arena.

The Green Knights (4-8-3) scored just 22 seconds into the game to get the jump on the No. 6-ranked Falcons. Jessica Schlaff scored off assists from Lexi Pyykkonen and Selena Stromer to give St. Norbert a 1-0 lead. The Falcons would answer at the 2:01 mark, and then score four more times over the next 12 minutes to take a 5-1 lead. Pyykkonen scored on the power play at the 17:51 mark off helpers from Stromer and Natasha Smith to cut the deficit to 5-2 after the first period.

River Falls (12-4-1) scored twice to start the second period before Emily Bondrager scored off helpers from Rachael Goodrow and Rebecka Olsson at 13:44 to bring the Green Knights to within 7-3.

The Falcons added a third-period goal for the final margin.

River Falls outshot St. Norbert 34-19 and both teams were 1-for-2 on the power play. Brianna Kelly made 26 saves for the Green Knights, while Angie Hall made 16 stops for the Falcons.
