Big Second Period Lifts St. Norbert Past Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - St. Norbert College pumped in four second-period goals en route to a 5-1 win over Trine University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Thunder Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (16-4-1, 11-3 NCHA) were deadlocked 1-1 after the first period, but Steven Phillips got St. Norbert's offense going with a goal just 52 seconds into the second period. Roman Uchyn followed 55 seconds later to put the Green Knights up 3-1. Timmy Nicksic scored at the 7:28 mark for St. Norbert, while Riley Christensen tallied a power-play marker at 15:42.

Trine had the early lead when Dante Suffredini scored at 5:59 of the first period, but Keegan Milligan responded for the Green Knights at 9:10.

Sean Campbell registered three assists for the Green Knights, while Dominick Sacco had two helpers. Christensen and Uchyn also had assists to give them each a multi-point game.

St. Norbert outshot Trine 37-17. T.J. Black made 16 saves for the Green Knights, while Brett Young and Aaron Brickman combined to make 32 stops for the Thunder.

St. Norbert was 1-for-7 on the power play, while Trine was 0-for-3.
