Green Knights Pull Away From Lady Blues, Tilley Wins 498th

DE PERE - St. Norbert College extended its home-court winning streak to 19 with a convincing 66-45 win over Illinois College in a Midwest Conference game at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights improved to 10-4 overall and 6-1 in the MWC, and head coach Connie Tilley picked up her 498th career win. The Lady Blues fell to 8-6, 3-4.

Illinois College jumped out to a 7-0 lead with a basket by Carrie Walberg, a 3-pointer by Sarah Puckett and two free throws by Walberg. St. Norbert then went on a 12-2 run to take a 12-9 lead. St. Norbert led 25-17 with 4:36 left in the half before going on an 8-0 run to take a 33-17 lead before settling on a 37-21 halftime advantage.

The Lady Blues would trail 48-34 with 10:44 left before St. Norbert slowly pulled ahead over the next five minutes to take a 65-40 lead on a 3-pointer by Krista Pelky with 4:36 left.

Denise Heuser led St. Norbert with 17 points and four rebounds, while Stefanie Bunday added 13 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the floor. The Green Knights shot 46.4 percent from the floor, making 26 of 56 shots from the floor.

Illinois College shot 37 percent from the floor, making 17 of 46 shots. The Lady Blues had 30 turnovers. Rachel Macon had 11 points and eight rebounds to lead Illinois College in both categories.
