Quick Start Lifts St. Norbert Past Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - St. Norbert College scored twice in the first nine minutes as the spark toward gaining a 4-2 win over Trine University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Thunder Ice Arena.
In the first-ever meeting between the two schools in women's hockey, Lauren Michael scored at the 5:50 mark to put the Green Knights ahead. St. Norbert added to its lead at 8:36 when Natasha Smith scored her first goal of the season.
Michael scored at 3:31 of the second period - her sixth goal of the year - to put the Green Knights up 3-0. The Thunder would storm back, scoring a pair of goals midway through the stanza. Eryn Isaacson scored at 10:29 and Jessica Sloat at 13:52 for Trine. St. Norbert answered at 18:51 of the frame on Jessica Sherman's goal, her third of the season.
Kenna Farrey had two assists, while Smith had a helper to also join Michael with a two-point game.
Leigh Grall made 21 saves for the Green Knights, while Molly Scarborough made 25 saves for the Thunder.
Each team was 0-for-1 on the power play, with each squad getting whistled for just one minor penalty in the game.
