Green Knights Romp Past Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - St. Norbert College rolled to a 7-0 win over Trine University to claim a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series sweep at Thunder Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (8-10-3, 8-4-2 NCHA) clinched a berth in the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs with the win.

St. Norbert got off to a 2-0 lead after the first period. The Green Knights got a goal at 11:16 from K.J. Wallace and an unassisted marker from Jessica Sherman at 14:32. Lisa Lenell scored at 15:49 of the second period, while Lexi Pyykkonen scored five seconds into a power play at the 17:26 mark for a 4-0 lead heading into second intemission.

The Green Knights salted the win away with three third-period goals. Wallace scored at 2:32, Lauren Michael at 13:38 and Jessica Schlaff at 15:26.

Kenna Farrey and Libbie Doney had two assists apiece. Schlaff, Lenell and Pyykkonen each had an assist to finish with two points apiece.

St. Norbert outshot Trine 38-17. Leigh Grall made 17 saves in the shutout, while Molly Scarborough made 31 stops for the Thunder.

St. Norbert was 1-for-4 on the power play, while Trine was 0-for-2.
