Green Knights Romp to Team Title at Ripon

RIPON - St. Norbert College rolled through the competition to take the team championship of the Ripon College Red Hawk Invitational at Willmore Center.

The Green Knights compiled a whopping 234.6 points to easily outdistance second-place Milwaukee School of Engineering's 81.6 points. Carroll University was third with 79.2 points.

Graceanne Tarsa reset her school record in the pole vault with a clearance of 11 feet 1 inch. Kirsten Carrigan was second in the event at 10-2.

St. Norbert took the top three places in the shot put. Kristina Herman won the event with a distance of 39-4 1/2, followed by Savanna Smith in second place at 38-0 3/4. Hannah Kruse was third with a distance of 37-10 3/4.

The Green Knights swept the top four places in the 400-meter dash. LeBrun won with a time of 59.35 seconds. Van Beek was second at 1:03.74, Ruplinger third in 1:04.15 and Nicole Barth fourth in 1:06.01. Sarah Parbs led a trio of Green Knights atop the 3,000-meter run, winning in 10:51.92. Gretchen Price was second in 11:05.17, while Alyssa Wegner was third in 11:06.60.

St. Norbert's two relays took event championships. The 4x200-meter relay of Maddie LeBrun, Haidyn Mueller, Peyton McCauley and Sarah Duff won with a time of 1:48.55. The 4x400-meter relay of Duff, Claire Van Beek, Hailey Ruplinger and Megan Cibulka won with a time of 4:13.97.

Cibulka claimed the title in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.12, while Morgan McClone was third in 2:23.09.

Morgan Pinardi was second in the high jump at 4-9.

McCauley was third in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.71 seconds and the triple jump in 34-11 1/4, while Van Beek was third in the 200-meter dash in 28.62 seconds.
