St. Norbert Drops Series Opener at Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College lost the first game in a two-game Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs first-round series by a 4-0 score to Lake Forest College at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
The Green Knights need a win in the second game at 5 p.m. Saturday to force a tiebreaking mini-game to decide who advances.
Lake Forest scored at 8:48 of the first period on a goal by Kristina Bellomo for a 1-0 lead. Megan Lyke added another goal for the Foresters at 15:33 for a 2-0 lead going into first intermission.
Amy Budde scored at 12:53 of the second period, and Kayla Griffith added a power-play goal at 16:56 for the game's final scoring.
Lake Forest outshot St. Norbert 29-17. Jacque Rogers made 17 saves for the Foresters, while Leigh Grall made 25 stops for the Green Knights.
Lake Forest was 1-for-3 on the power play, while St. Norbert was 0-for-4.
