Overtime Goal Lifts Pointers Past Knights

STEVENS POINT - Travis Erstad's goal 1:41 into overtime was the difference as 13th-ranked UW-Stevens Point defeated fourth-ranked St. Norbert at K.B. Willett Arena on Saturday.
With the loss, St. Norbert dropped to 15-5, 6-3 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. Stevens Point improved to 13-5-2, 4-4-1 in the NCHA.
While on the power-play, Stevens Point took a 1-0 lead 6:30 into the first period when Erstad deflected a Luke Nesper shot past St. Norbert goaltender Blake Bashor.
St. Norbert tied the score less than four minutes later. An extra-attacker because of a delayed-penalty allowed Scott Pulak to center to a streaking Taylor Langford who chipped a shot past Stevens Point goaltender Thomas Speer at 10:29. The goal, also assisted by Ryan Petersen, was Langford's third of the season.
After scoreless second and third periods, Erstad snuck a shot past a screened Bashor for the game-winner.
St. Norbert was 0-of-6 on the power-play, and Stevens Point was 1-of-5.
Bashor stopped 23 shots for St. Norbert, while Speer made 25 saves for Stevens Point.
