Green Knights Place Third at MWC Championship

RIPON - St. Norbert College finished in third place in a hotly contested Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship at Ripon College's Willmore Center.

The Green Knights finished with 110 points to finish behind Monmouth College's 145 points and Illinois College's 121 points. St. Norbert slipped past Cornell College, which was fourth with 106 points.

St. Norbert's best finish on the meet's second day was a second-place showing from Max Schermacher in the pole vault. Schermacher cleared 13 feet 11 1/4 inches.

Jon Gregory was third in the 400-meter run in 50.95 seconds, while Xavier Josephs was third in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.77 seconds.

The distance medley relay of Matthew McKendry, Tyler Lemens, Ben Behling and Matt Holloway was fourth in 10:40.39. Adam Weigman was fourth in the 60-meter dash in 7.12 seconds, while Andrew LeMay was fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:00.15.

Noah Kleiman was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.89 seconds and eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 41-6. The 4x400-meter relay of Samuel Fletcher, LeMay, Joe Gasick and Ryan Priebe was fifth in 3:32.59.

Travis Heschke was fifth in the triple jump at 42-6 1/4 while Fletcher was sixth at 42-4. Gasick was sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:01.56. Sam Stelloh was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles.
