DE PERE - St. Norbert College split a non-conference doubleheader with UW-Eau Claire, rallying to win the opener 7-5 before dropping the nightcap 4-2.

St. Norbert (4-10) rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the opener. The Green Knights held a 2-0 lead in the nightcap and fell behind in the late innings, then loaded the bases in the seventh inning but couldn't muster another rally.

Eau Claire (12-8) built its lead with single runs in the first and third innings. The Green Knights answered with a pair of runs in the fourth inning, with a run scoring on an outfield error and another run on Leigh Grall's double. The Blugolds countered with three runs in the top of the fifth inning on a bases-loaded double by Gretchen Arneson.

St. Norbert chipped away with two runs in the fifth on a two-run single by Amanda Diedrich. The Green Knights pushed three runs across in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run triple by Brianna Braeger and an insurance run scoring on an RBI single by Randi Morack.

Braeger was 3-for-4, while Morack was 2-for-4 for the Green Knights, who had nine hits. Emma Molenhouse earned the win, scattering six hits with two walks and six strikeouts in the complete game effort.

In the nightcap, St. Norbert took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run double by Lexy Campshure. Those runs would hold up until Eau Claire scored one run in the fifth inning and three runs in the sixth inning. St. Norbert would load the bases in the bottom of the seventh but couldn't extend the inning.

The Green Knights were held to four hits in the game. Sydney Pfotenhauer took the loss, allowing 10 hits in six innings of work.
