St. Norbert Swept by Illinois College

BELOIT - St. Norbert College was swept by Illinois College in a Midwest Conference doubleheader by scores of 6-5 and 8-2.

The Green Knights fell behind 5-0 in the opener after the Lady Blues scored four runs in the second inning and a single run in the third inning. St. Norbert rallied to tie the game with two runs in the third inning and three runs in the fourth inning.

Amanda Diedrich forced in a run with a bases-loaded walk and Lexy Campshure added an RBI single later in the third inning. The Green Knights pulled even in the fourth on Brianna Braeger's two-run single and Braeger scoring on the back end of a double steal. Illinois College scored the game-winning run in the fifth inning when it pushed across an unearned run.

Braeger was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Randi Morack was 2-for-4.

Illinois College scored two runs in the first inning but the Green Knights cut into the deficit with a Diedrich run-scoring double in the bottom of the inning. The Lady Blues added two runs in the second and three runs in the third to build a 7-1 lead. St. Norbert scored in the bottom of the third on a Campshure RBI single. Illinois College would score a single run in the fifth inning.

Diedrich and Campshure were both 2-for-3 with an RBI.
