DE PERE - Steady rain forecast for this weekend in De Pere has prompted the moving of the 2018 Midwest Conference Baseball Tournament from St. Norbert College to Monmouth College.

Forecasts of 1 to 3 inches of rain with few breaks this Friday and Saturday necessitated the move. The double-elimination tournament must be completed by 5 p.m. Sunday for NCAA Championship selection and seeding purposes.

North Division champion St. Norbert will face South Division runner-up at 11 a.m. Friday at Knox College's Blodgett Field in Galesburg, Ill. South Division champion Monmouth will host North Division runner-up Lawrence University at 11 a.m. Friday at Glasgow Field in Monmouth, Ill. The winners and losers of the first-round games will play at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with Monmouth hosting the game it is playing in.

Games 5, 6 and 7, if necessary, will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, all at Glasgow Field.

The winner of the tournament is the MWC Champion and receives the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
