Six Named to All-MWC North Division Squad

DE PERE -- St. Norbert College had six players named to the All-Midwest Conference North Division Team announced today by the conference office.

Senior shortstop Hunter Larson was named MWC North Division Player of the Year, while sophomore pitcher Nick Klavekoske was named MWC Co-North Division Pitcher of the Year. Joining the pair on the team was senior outfielder Jason Malkowski, junior outfielder Sean Ferraro, junior third baseman Griffin Jack and sophomore pitcher Carson Jacques.

Larson, a Marquette, Mich., native, hit .362 overall while sharing the team lead in doubles with 11. He scored 24 runs, hit one home run and drove in 21 runs. His 24 walks and .489 on-base percentage were also team highs.

Klavekoske, a Beaver Dam native, finished 4-2 overall with a 3.67 earned run average and .274 batting average against. Klavekoske allowed 60 hits and walked 22 in 56 1/3 innings of action while striking out 48. His 19 appearances tied a St. Norbert single-season record.

Malkowski, a Greenville native, hit a team-high .364 with two home runs and 25 runs batted in. Malkowski scored 24 runs and hit eight doubles. Malkowski was also 1-1 on the mound with a 4.78 earned run average and .296 batting average against. Malkowski was also an All-MWC North selection in 2017.

Ferraro, a Libertyville, Ill., native, hit .277 overall with a team-high four home runs with 29 runs batted in. Ferraro scored 36 runs and stole eight bases and was an All-MWC North honoree in 2017.

Jack, a Neenah native, hit .273 overall while leading the team in runs scored with 37. He shared the team high in doubles with 11 while also hitting two triples and two home runs with 20 runs batted in. Jack also had a team-high 15 stolen bases. Jack was a All-MWC North choice in 2017.

Jacques, a De Pere native, was 4-3 overall with a 4.76 earned run average and .293 batting average against. He led the Green Knights with nine starts and three complete games while allowing 66 hits in 56 2/3 innings. He was an All-MWC North selection in 2017.

St. Norbert finished 24-15 overall this season and finished second overall in the Midwest Conference.
