DE PERE - St. Norbert College student-athletes had a banner year in the classroom, finishing with 11 Midwest Conference Elite 20 Award recipients during the 2017-18 academic year.

Each year, the Midwest Conference recognizes the student-athlete, with the highest cumulative grade point average, participating in his or her respective sport's culminating championship or tournament event with its Elite 20 Award. The award recognizes the commitment of the student-athlete toward the pursuit of excellence in both the athletic and academic realms as measured by reaching the pinnacle of competition within the league, while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers.

St. Norbert's 11 awards came out 18 possible opportunities, as the Green Knights will not offer men's or women's swimming until the 2018-19 academic year. The Green Knights' bounty shattered the previous mark for Elite 20 Awards in one season, more than doubling St. Norbert's five in 2016-17. St. Norbert student-athletes have received 18 MWC Elite 20 Awards in the three-year existence of the award, 10 more than the next closest school.

A student-athlete can only win one MWC Elite 20 Award per academic year.
