Green Knights Open With Loss at Wisconsin Lutheran

MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College opened the 2018 season with a 4-1 setback to Wisconsin Lutheran College in a non-conference game at Warrior Soccer Field.

The Green Knights struck first with a goal by Madalyn Sanderfoot just 9 minutes 17 seconds into the game. Dana Schwab and Hanna Lech were credited with assists. Wisconsin Lutheran responded with a marker from Ella Metten at the 15:56 mark. The Warriors pulled ahead with goals from Miriam Carreno at 24:23 and Mady Hirsch at 35:21 for a 3-1 lead they would carry into halftime.

Wisconsin Lutheran's Helen Joyce scored in the 68th minute for the lone goal in the second half.

St. Norbert outshot Wisconsin Lutheran 20-10, including 12-2 in the second half. Ally Magiera made four saves for the Green Knights.
