Green Knights Begin Season at Northwestern Tournament

ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Norbert College opened the 2018 season with a pair of losses in the University of Northwestern Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational at Ericksen Center. The Green Knights fell to Wartburg College 3-0 and Concordia-Moorhead College 3-1.

St. Norbert gave Wartburg, the preseason favorite in the American Rivers Conference, all it wanted before falling 25-22, 25-23, 25-19. The Green Knights held leads late in the first two sets before the Knights rallied to win.

The Green Knights hit .117 in the match, with 32 kills against 19 errors in 111 attempts. Grace Baumann had a team-high nine kills, while Halie Ferry and Hanna Strohm had seven kills apiece. Emily Rohloff had 15 assists while Danielle Dolan added 14.

Jaisah paced the back row with 15 digs. Ferry finished with 13 digs, while Maddy Miller had 12 digs and Baumann 11. Rohloff added two service aces.

Against Concordia, the Green Knights again lost narrow decisions in the first two sets before succumbing 28-26, 25-22, 19-25, 25-13.

The Green Knights hit .174 with 54 kills against 27 errors in 155 attempts. Baumann and Ferry had 15 kills apiece to share the team lead. Dolan had 25 assists, while Rohloff added 16 assists.

Lee finished with 23 digs and Rohloff added 10 digs. Dolan, Lexie Van Hiel and Hanna Strohm had two blocks apiece.
